About Dark Diaries

Dark Diaries wasn't created because I wanted to start a clothing brand—it was created because I needed something to hold onto.

My fascination with forensic psychology and the complexities of the human mind began during my time in the Marine Corps. I found myself constantly asking why people think, behave, and commit crimes the way they do. That curiosity eventually became a passion and led me to pursue an education in psychology.

After leaving the military, I experienced one of the darkest periods of my life. As I worked through significant trauma and struggled with my mental health, I found myself searching for meaning and trying to understand who I was beyond everything I had been through. During that time, creating became more than a hobby—it became a lifeline.

Art gave me a way to express emotions I couldn't always put into words. Through creativity and self-expression, I slowly began rebuilding my identity and rediscovering parts of myself I thought I'd lost. One of the pieces created during that period would eventually become the main design behind Dark Diaries, carrying the words Every Shadow Has an Origin.

What began as something deeply personal eventually grew into something larger. Dark Diaries became a place where my interests in psychology, human behavior, art, symbolism, and the darker parts of the human experience could exist together. My academic background in forensic psychology has only strengthened the curiosity that first began in the military and continues to shape both my interests and the vision behind the brand.

Every Dark Diaries design carries its own meaning. Some are rooted in personal experiences, while others explore psychology, perception, fear, symbolism, the unknown, and the questions that make us look beyond what is immediately visible. They don't all tell the same story, but they come from the same curiosity about what exists beneath the surface.

That idea is at the heart of Dark Diaries: every shadow has an origin. Behind what we see are experiences, emotions, histories, fears, and parts of ourselves that aren't always visible to others.
